Description
Van Gogh’s *White Roses* was created in 1890 during his stay at the Saint-Rémy psychiatric hospital and is one of the defining works of the final stage of his life. The painting was created during a period of relative mental calm, when he sought to express his love for life and nature through flowers. We chose to recreate this painting using the ancient craft of mosaic—both as a tribute to Van Gogh and to present this classic work of art in a more durable, textured form that suits the decorative needs of modern spaces.
While preserving the original’s colors and composition, the arrangement of mosaic tiles enhances the painting’s textural quality and decorative appeal, infusing the classical oil painting with the texture of modern art. The colors also appear more lustrous due to the refraction of light off the mosaic tiles.

Functionality meets aesthetics
Beyond decoration, mosaics serve specific purposes. For instance, anti-slip mosaic tiles on bathroom floors ensure safety while enhancing the space through pattern design. Reflective mosaic feature walls visually expand areas, making compact homes feel more spacious.
Highly customizable
Patterns and colors can be tailored to spatial dimensions and personal preferences. Whether for partial accents in home renovations or large-scale art installations in commercial spaces, bespoke mosaic solutions can be designed to meet specific requirements and fulfill personalized needs.
Historical and cultural carrier
As one of humanity's oldest art forms, mosaic art documents cultural, religious, and daily life scenes across different eras. For instance, ancient Roman floor mosaics depicted mythological tales and everyday cuisine; while Islamic mosaic decorations embody distinctive geometric aesthetics and religious beliefs.
Cross-cultural continuity
From ancient Greece and Rome to Byzantine and Islamic civilizations, and across the modern global landscape, mosaic craftsmanship and styles have continuously evolved, becoming a universal artistic language that transcends regions and eras, connecting the artistic threads of diverse cultures.
